Trip to the Zoo

I love spring. In Houston, spring weather is almost unheard of! We get about a week a year of actual spring weather, and then it's just hot!

I also love free. Getting things for free is an unbeatable deal! Houston has a whole museum district with tons of things to see. Most of the museums have at least one free event/day each month. If you visit this website, you can see all the days that are available.

Yesterday, we took advantage of the GREAT weather and a FREE zoo day (the first Tuesday of every month)! The kids were SO excited, I think they may have even said a time or two that it was "the best day of their life"!
 Before we entered

Abi loves animals, but for whatever reason, she is deathly afraid of being close to fish!! In fact, I asked her to turn around so I could take pictures of them in front of these tanks. She was not happy about it!!

A tube that kids can crawl through to see the piranhas close up

My little monkeys!

See, this confirms my suspicions!

At the children's zoo they get to brush the animals

You can't really tell by the picture, but they were looking at a turtle that was probably bigger than a  car tire!!!

The reptile exhibit is always my favorite!

 Look at that face!!

It's a VIPER!!!

Thanks for the free days link! Love me some free stuff! And "YAY!" about your decision to go organic! Hurts in the wallet in the beginning, but I think it's worth it! Oh- and check your freezer section for organic bread. Most likely there's a frozen section in the health food area of Kroger or wherever you shop. Try Ezekiel. (Of course your homemade veriosn's probably cheaper...)
