Musical emotions

So, I KNOW everyone has that one song that evokes emotions...for me it is the song "I will not be moved" by Natalie Grant (it's on my playlist if you want to hear it!) It does not matter how many times I hear that song, it always brings the happy tears building up in my eyes! This morning I was driving down 290 listening to my song...and you guessed it...teary eyes! I can relate to every line in the song!
Here are the lyrics:
I have been the wayward child
I have acted out
I have questioned Sovereignty
And had my share of doubt
And though sometimes my prayers feel like
They're bouncing off the sky
The hand I hold won't let me go
And is the reason why
I will stumble
I will fall down
But I will not be moved
I will make mistakes
I will face heartache
But I will not be moved
On Christ the Solid Rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
I will not be moved
Bitterness has plagued my heart
Many times before
My life has been like broken glass
And I have kept the score
Of all my shattered dreams and though it seemed
That I was far too gone
My brokenness helped me to see
It's grace I'm standing on
I will stumble
I will fall down
But I will not be movedI will make mistakes
I will face heartache
But I will not be moved
On Christ the Solid Rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
I will not be moved
And the chaos in my life
Has been a badge I've worn
Though I have been torn
I will not be moved

Music certainly moves people. Once I exited for U of H, I was behind a silver Ford Focus. The windows were rolled down and the sunroof opened...it took me a minute, but I noticed the ENTIRE car was bouncing...I could see the lady in her side mirror just dancing and singing! It is so funny how music can bring out emotions that make you want to through your entire being into motion! Just a thought (and a funny mental picture) for the day!

I absolutely LOVE that song! If I had a playlist on my blog, I would definitely have that song on it. AND if I had ANY songs on my MP3 Player I got for Christmas, I would be jamming to Natalie Grant.

Thanks for sharing. I was singing along as I read your post.

And, yes I need to learn how to work my MP3 Player....

I can definately relate to what you call "happy tears." There are a few songs that are so grounded in truth I usually choke up when I hear them. "Praise God, the author and finisher of our faith."
